Post-process measuring stations

Post-process measuring stations serve for monitoring and controlling the production process.
The statistical qs-STAT® evaluation is made by the HOMMEL TESTER MC500 measuring electronics.
The degree of automation of the measuring equipment can be executed manually, semi-automatically or fully automatically depending on customer requirements.

Crank shaft
Performance characteristics:
  • Stable substructure
  • Outer housing in attractive design
  • Lighting and ergonomic tool tray
  • Stable steel or stone baseplate
  • Robust, production-compatible gauging components
  • HOMMEL TESTER MC500 measuring electronics
  • Degree of automation according to customer requirements

Use of the post-process measuring stations in a crank shaft production line:

  • turn bearing
  • grind main bearing
  • grind pin bearing
  • end machining
  • grind flange and journal

Crank case

With the post-process measuring stations for crank cases, the cylinder bores and the crank shaft bearing track are tested for dimensional stability and form.
Another application represents the measurement of the angle position between the bearing track and the individual cylinder bores.

The measured value recording can take place either pneumatically or tactile-inductively.

Con rod
Different workpiece types can be measured after manual conversion of the measuring station or by implementing appropriate double measuring stations. The advantages of the modular HOMMEL-ETAMIC design are shown here.

Typical measuring tasks on the con rod are:

  • diameter of small and large eye

  • ovality and cylindricity of the con rod eyes

  • axis spacing

  • bend

  • twist

  • squareness of the con rod eyes to the end face

  • thickness
